About the ReMODE Project

This survey is conducted as part of the ReMODE Project: Unlocking Circular Fashion Design Excellence. ReMODE is an EU-funded project dedicated to transforming the fashion and textile sector through sustainability, circular economy principles, digital innovation, and stronger cooperation between education and industry. The project aims to support the green and digital transition of the fashion and textile sector by developing new skills, training approaches, and collaboration structures.

ReMODE focuses especially on bridging the gap between vocational education, higher education, industry, SMEs, public institutions, and other stakeholders. One of its key goals is to establish five Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) across Europe, which will act as innovation-driven learning and collaboration hubs for sustainable fashion and textile education. By taking part in this mapping survey, you help us to connect people, education providers and organisations so that every region can understand what it has, what it needs and what it can offer. Your answers will help shape regional Centres of Vocational Excellence, training pathways, work-based learning and matchmaking opportunities.

Purpose of this Survey

You are invited to participate in this survey to map stakeholders, organisations, learners, skills, offers, collaboration interests, and current and future needs in the sustainable fashion, textile, education, innovation, and circular economy fields.

The information collected will support project mapping, stakeholder engagement, networking, collaboration planning, training and curriculum development, research analysis, and the preparation of project-related outputs, recommendations, and communication activities.

Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal

Your participation is voluntary. You may choose not to answer particular questions, unless a question is technically marked as required for survey completion.

Please note that if your responses have already been anonymised and can no longer be linked to you, it may no longer be possible to remove your individual data from aggregated analysis.

What Data Will Be Collected?

Depending on your answers and the questionnaire section relevant to you, we may collect the following categories of data:

• Name, email address, country of operation or residence
• Organisation type, sector, role, value-chain position, retail presence, and commitments
• Information about materials, production technologies, services, circular practices, business model, skills, professional interests, learning needs, and collaboration interests
• Preferences regarding receiving project-related information, research findings, insights, and event information
• Information about your education, professional status, skills, career interests, preferred learning methods, and future development needs

Legal Basis for Processing

Your personal data will be processed on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, where you agree to participate in the survey and allow us to process your responses for the purposes described above.

Where your data is used for project communication, event invitations, or updates about insights or research findings, this will only take place where you have provided the relevant consent or where another appropriate legal basis applies.

How Your Data Will Be Used

Your responses may be used for the following purposes:

• Creating an internal stakeholder, skills, needs, and collaboration map
• Identifying potential partnerships, research links, training needs, and collaboration opportunities
• Analysing trends in sustainable fashion, textiles, education, circularity, and skills demand
• Preparing aggregated project reports, presentations, recommendations, or publications
• Contacting you about collaboration opportunities, project activities, research findings, insights, or events, where you have agreed to this

Reports, presentations, recommendations and publications will normally use aggregated or anonymised information, unless you have given separate explicit consent for identifiable public visibility.

Who Will Have Access to Your Data?

Your personal data will only be accessed by authorised members of the ReMODE project team, including relevant project partners where this is necessary for the purposes described above. The partner list can be accessed via: https://remode-project.eu/partners/

Your data will not be sold to third parties. If data is shared with service providers, survey platforms, cloud storage providers, or project partners, appropriate data protection measures will be applied.

Data Storage and Retention

Your data will be stored securely using the following system, platform, or storage location:

• Survey platform / storage system: MySQL Database (Hosted on the ReMODE platform via ProxyLab infrastructure)
• Storage location / country, if known: Finland (European Union)
• Security measures: SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit (HTTPS), restricted database access controls, encrypted password hashing, and regular server security updates.

After this period, your personal data will be deleted, anonymised, or securely archived in accordance with applicable data protection rules. The GDPR requires personal data to be collected for specified purposes and not kept longer than necessary for those purposes.

Personal Information, Public Visibility and Follow-up Contact

Identifiable information about you or your organisation will not be published on a public map, directory, website, report, platform or other external output unless you have given separate explicit consent. Contact email addresses will not be displayed publicly unless you have explicitly agreed to this separately.

Providing personal and contact information is optional. You may complete the survey without providing your name, email address, organisation name or website. If you would like to be contacted about collaboration, networking, CoVE development, project updates, event invitations or follow-up activities, you may provide contact details and give the relevant additional consent.

Consent Confirmation

Participation in the survey is separate from any additional consent to provide contact details, receive project updates, be contacted for collaboration or matchmaking, be included in an internal ReMODE stakeholder mapping database, or be considered for public visibility. You may agree to participate in the survey without agreeing to all additional uses of your data. The following consent questions allow you to decide separately which forms of data use you agree to.
